It's festive and fun and deeply, authentically German.The Rhine Gorge &amp; Castles — This is the stretch I tell everyone to get up on deck for. For miles, the Rhine winds through a dramatic gorge with forested cliffs rising on both sides — and perched on those cliffs are over 40 medieval castles. Forty. You literally cannot look in any direction without seeing a tower or a ruin or a fortress. The iconic Burgkatze Castle sits right above a cluster of colorful riverside houses like a scene from a storybook. If you love history, this is your moment.Cologne, Germany — The Cologne Cathedral is one of the most breathtaking Gothic structures in the world, and sailing into Cologne with that skyline in view is something you don't forget. We'll have time to explore the old town, grab a local Kölsch beer, and stand inside a cathedral that took over 600 years to build.🌷 Amsterdam, Netherlands — June 29 We disembark in Amsterdam on June 29 — and if you've never been, let me just say: stay an extra day or two if you can. The canal houses, the museums, the flower markets, the bikes weaving through it all — Amsterdam rewards slow wandering. The Two Types of Travelers: The Planner vs. The Pivoter (And Why You Need Both) Travel has a funny way of revealing who we really are.Some people want every detail mapped out—every transfer, every hotel, every minute accounted for. Others? They’re a little more relaxed. They trust the process, adjust as needed, and figure things out along the way.In our house, we are both.My husband Lloyd is the planner. He likes to know:Where we’re going How we’re getting there What time we’ll arrive And what happens next I’m the pivoter. I plan too—but I’m also comfortable adjusting when things don’t go as expected.And on our recent Europe trip, that difference showed up in a big way.&nbsp; When Travel Doesn’t Go As Planned We were wrapping up a beautiful trip through Europe and needed to get from Prague to Munich to catch our flight home the next day.Simple enough… until it wasn’t.Our flight on Lufthansa was canceled due to a strike.No backup flight. No easy rebooking.Just like that—we had to figure out how to get to Munich on our own.&nbsp; Plan B… C… and D We decided to take the train.At first, it felt like the perfect solution—comfortable, scenic, efficient.
