Christmas in Dracula's Homeland?

Why Romania Is at the Top of My Christmas Travel List
For years, I've dreamed of experiencing Christmas in Transylvania, and it's high on my travel wish list for 2028.

The more I've learned about Romania, the more fascinated I've become.

Most people hear "Transylvania" and immediately think of Dracula. But there's so much more to this remarkable region than one famous legend.

I'm drawn to its beautifully preserved medieval towns, centuries-old castles, festive Christmas markets, and traditions that have been celebrated for generations.

One place I especially hope to visit is the Christmas Market in Sibiu.

Every photo I've seen captures a magical holiday scene—twinkling lights, wooden market stalls, a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, and colorful historic buildings surrounding the town square. It looks like something straight out of a storybook.

As someone who loves discovering the stories behind destinations, Romania feels like the perfect blend of history, folklore, and Christmas traditions.

It's exactly the kind of place I want to experience—and eventually share with my own travelers.

One of the things I love most about travel is that there's always another story waiting to be discovered.

For me, Christmas in Dracula's homeland is one of those stories.
